ETSI EN 301 701 V1.1.1 is a standard within Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) that defines the use of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) for microwave digital terrestrial television. The standard outlines the technical parameters for delivering digital TV content over microwave links, enabling efficient and reliable signal transmission, particularly suited for challenging radio environments.
ETSI EN 301 958 V1.1.1 is also a DVB standard, focusing on the return channel for digital terrestrial television (Return Channel Terrestrial – RCT). The standard employs Multiple Access OFDM to enable two-way communication between transmitter and receiver, enhancing user interactivity and service quality in digital TV systems.
These two standards have already been published and are now subject to a vote by ITS on whether they should be withdrawn.
