ETSI recently published an updated version of a standard regarding energy consumption of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). The standard (ETSI EN 301 575 V1.2.0 (2025-02)) defines a method that can be used to measure the energy consumption of, for example, modems, routers, and other network devices used in homes and businesses.
The purpose of the standard is to ensure a consistent and fair measurement of energy usage. In turn, this will lead to improved energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact that this type of equipment has today.
