ETSI has now published a new standard as part of the Environmental Engineering (EE) initiative. The standard (ETSI EN 303 800-2 V0.0.11) aims to assess the material efficiency of ICT network infrastructure products within the circular economy framework.

The standard is divided into two parts. The second part focuses on secure data deletion in servers and data storage products. Consequently, the standard will also contribute to improved sustainability and data security.
