ETSI EN 319 142-1 V1.3.0 specifies the fundamental building blocks and baseline profiles for PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures). The standard describes how advanced electronic signatures can be implemented in PDF documents to ensure, among other things, the integrity of signatures and their validation over time. The new version has been aligned with the current version of ISO 32000, the standard for PDF.
The standard covers different levels of PAdES baseline signatures and the technical building blocks required to create and validate such signatures. Its aim is to provide a common technical foundation for interoperable electronic signatures in PDF documents.
