ETSI has developed a new version of ETSI EN 303 699, a harmonised standard for fixed satellite earth stations communicating with non-geostationary satellite systems (NGSO) in the 20 GHz and 30 GHz FSS bands. The standard covers technical characteristics and measurement methods for earth stations used for applications such as information exchange and data communications within satellite networks.

The standard addresses requirements related to transmission and reception, unwanted emissions, antenna pointing accuracy, cessation of emissions, and control and monitoring functions. It also includes methods for verifying compliance with requirements for access to radio spectrum under the EU regulatory framework for radio equipment.
