ETSI EN 305 550-3 is a standard under development for Short Range Devices (SRD) operating in the 40–260 GHz frequency range. It sets common technical requirements so that different radio systems can coexist and use the spectrum efficiently at these high frequencies.

The standard supports the development of future wireless solutions, such as high‑capacity communications and advanced sensing applications.

It also supports the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and future needs in wireless communication across Europe.
