Harmonised standard for IMT Mobile Networks (work item)

ETSI EN 301 908-1 is a harmonised standard that applies to IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) cellular networks, such as 3G, 4G and 5G. It defines essential requirements for how radio equipment may access and use the radio spectrum.

The standard is Part 1 of the series and serves as an overarching framework. It includes general technical requirements, test methods and conditions applicable to different types of mobile equipment. It ensures that equipment complies with EU regulations, in particular the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).

The aim is to minimise interference between radio systems, ensure efficient use of frequencies and enable compatibility between networks and devices.
