ETSI has issued a Call for Expertise (CfE) to recruit contributors to Testing Task Force T049 (TTF T049) under the Industry Specification Group on Network Functions Virtualisation (ISG NFV). The goal is to maintain and further develop API conformance test suites—a crucial step in translating ETSI’s specifications into functional and interoperable solutions for the industry.

TTF T049 builds on previous work with NFV-TST010, a comprehensive test plan that enables vendors and users to verify compliance with ETSI’s NFV-SOL specifications. The focus now is on aligning test support with Release 5, including improved test code, feedback integration and expanded automation using the Robot Framework.

The project also highlights how ETSI’s standardisation process interacts with the industry and open source communities. Feedback from OpenStack Tacker is being incorporated, and the deliverables are expected to support future Plugtests™.
