Standard focusing on secure boot processes in digital devices!

ETSI has launched an adoption vote for a new work item under the standard EN 304 623, which defines essential cybersecurity requirements for the boot manager – the software responsible for controlling the boot process in digital devices.

The standard supports the EU’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity through the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), aiming to prevent manipulation at an early stage by requiring authentication, integrity protection, and secure updates.

The goal is to ensure that only trusted software runs during startup, a crucial step in protecting connected products from cyberattacks.
