New cybersecurity requirements for smart home security products

ETSI EN 304 632 V1.0.0 specifies cybersecurity requirements, vulnerability handling activities and corresponding assessment criteria for smart products designed to protect the physical security of consumers in residential settings. The standard covers products including smart door locks, security cameras, baby monitoring systems and alarm systems, as well as hardware and software used to centrally control such products.

The requirements address areas such as secure configuration, security updates and vulnerability handling, as well as the protection of the product’s security functions. The aim is to strengthen the cybersecurity of connected security products that can be remotely controlled or managed.
