ETSI EN 305 550-7 V0.0.2 and ETSI EN 305 550-8 V0.0.4 are new parts within ETSI’s standard series for Short Range Devices (SRD) operating in very high frequency bands, ranging from millimetre waves up to the terahertz spectrum.

The standard series aims to establish a harmonised framework for access to the radio spectrum within the EU, which is essential for the safe and efficient use of these frequencies. The new parts complement existing specifications by defining additional technical requirements, test methods and usage scenarios for different types of equipment.

The development of the standard supports the emergence of advanced wireless technologies, such as high-capacity communications, precision sensing and innovative industrial applications. At the same time, it helps minimise interference and ensures compatibility between different systems and services.
