Two standards for IMT-2000 define requirements for user equipment and base stations

ETSI EN 301 908-8 V1.1.1 and ETSI EN 301 908-9 V1.1.1 are two harmonised standards for IMT-2000 cellular networks using TDMA Single-Carrier (UWC-136) technology. Part 8 applies to User Equipment (UE), while Part 9 applies to Base Stations (BS).

Since these standards are no longer used to the same extent, ITS will now vote on their withdrawal.

The standards address the essential requirements of article 3.2 of the former R&TTE Directive and cover electromagnetic compatibility and efficient use of the radio spectrum. Both are Harmonised standards under and support compliance for UWC-136 equipment placed on the market.

You are welcome to contact us if you still see a reason for these standards to be maintained by the 27th of August.
