The working draft EN 304 636 V0.0.0 focuses on fundamental cybersecurity requirements for firewalls as well as intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).

The aim is to strengthen protection against cyber threats and improve security in telecommunications networks. The standard is intended to provide a common framework to facilitate security assessments and procurement of these critical protection systems.

Although the standard is still in an early development stage, it represents an important step toward enhanced cybersecurity within the EU.
