Three new parts of the TDL specifications open for vote!

ETSI has released three updated parts of the Test Description Language (TDL) for member vote. These documents are part of the Methods for Testing and Specification (MTS) framework and help structure how tests are defined, written, and executed:

Here is a short explanation of the new specifications:

Part 1: Abstract syntax and semantics: ETSI ES 203 119-1 V1.8.1
This part describes the foundational rules and meaning of the TDL language, how test logic is structured and interpreted.

Part 8: Textual syntax – MAP Member Vote: ETSI ES 203 119-8 V1.3.1
The new version defines how TDL is written in readable text form, making it easier for developers to write and understand test cases.

Part 9: Test runtime interfaces: ETSI ES 203 119-9 V.1.1.1
Part 9 specifies how TDL-based tests interact with test systems during execution – enabling connection to test tools and platforms.

Here you can find the other parts.

All these documents play an important role in advancing model-based testing tools and automation.

All comments are welcome by the 7th of July.
