ETSI has now published a new standard for energy efficiency and measurement methodology for heterogeneous servers. The standard (ETSI ES 204 083 V1.0.0 (2025-02)) defines a methodology and the associated metrics for assessing the energy efficiency of heterogeneous servers.

The standard provides a unified framework that enables performance and energy consumption to be compared across various server environments. In turn, this will help organisations optimise their IT infrastructure with an emphasis on cost efficiency and environmental impact.
