ETSI has recently announced two new European standards for electronic signatures. The first one establishes security requirements and policies for Trust Service Providers that issue certificates for electronic signatures. This standard (ETSI EN 319 411-1 V1.5.0) is important for ensuring reliability and integrity throughout the entire electronic signing process. That way, it will support making digital business transactions and online services ever more secure.

The second standard (ETSI EN 319 411-2 V2.6.0) defines new requirements for Trust Service Providers issuing EU-qualified certificates for electronic signatures. This standard aims to ensure that certificates issued for European users meet strict security requirements. That way, the standard will be able to contribute to an increased trust in electronic transactions within the EU.
